A full-color heat transfer lanyard is normally made from smooth polyester webbing and printed using heat and pressure.

• Using good contrast between the logo and background

• Leaving enough space between repeating logos
• Checking the design at its actual production width
• Keeping important details away from cutting and sewing areas

The repeat direction should also be confirmed. Some buyers want the logo facing the same direction on both sides, while others prefer it to remain upright when viewed from either side.

Neither option is automatically correct. The important thing is to decide before production rather than discovering the difference after the cartons arrive.

What Does the Detachable Buckle Do?

The detachable buckle is normally positioned near the lower end of the lanyard, above the metal hook and ID card holder.

It allows the wearer to remove the lower badge section without taking the entire lanyard off.

This is useful when someone needs to:

• Scan an access card
• Present an ID card for inspection
• Tap a card against a reader
• Scan a QR code or barcode
• Remove the badge temporarily
• Change the attached card holder
• Access a key or small accessory

Removing a lanyard once is no problem. Removing it twenty times during a working day is a different story. That is why a small detachable buckle can make a noticeable difference in daily use.

After the card has been used, the buckle can be reconnected to the neck strap.

Detachable Buckle vs. Breakaway Safety Buckle

These two accessories are often confused, but they are designed for different purposes.

A detachable buckle is usually installed near the lower end of the lanyard. Its purpose is to let the wearer remove the ID card or attached item conveniently.

A breakaway buckle is normally installed around the neck area. It is designed to open when the lanyard is pulled with sufficient force.

The detachable buckle shown on this product should not automatically be described as a neck safety release.

If your project requires both convenient card removal and a breakaway function, the two buckles can be discussed as separate options. Keeping the terminology clear helps buyers receive the product they actually need.

Why Use a Metal Swivel Hook?

The metal swivel hook connects the detachable section to the ID card holder.

Its rotating structure allows the badge to move more naturally as the wearer walks or turns. It can also help reduce twisting between the lanyard and the card holder.

When selecting a metal hook, we check:

A hook may only be a few centimeters long, but it carries the entire badge. If the hook opening does not fit the card holder slot, the rest of the set cannot be assembled properly.

Rigid Plastic Card Holder

A rigid holder provides firmer support and is commonly used with standard employee ID cards, access cards and membership cards.

Printed PVC Card

Horizontal or Vertical Format

The usable inside size is more important than the outside dimensions. A holder may look large enough but still be too tight because part of the material is occupied by the sealed edges.
