A Real Look Inside Our Lanyard Printing Workshop
Custom Lanyard Printing—Straight from the Factory Floor
We have been producing custom lanyards since 2007, and one thing has never changed: a good-looking lanyard starts long before the printing machine begins to run.
In this video, we take you inside our sublimation printing workshop to show how a digital design becomes a finished custom lanyard. From artwork checking and color adjustment to heat transfer, cutting, sewing, hardware assembly, and final inspection, every step affects the finished result.
After nearly 20 years in lanyard production, we have learned that machines are fast—but experience keeps them from producing mistakes.
Why Choose Sublimation Printing for Custom Lanyards?
Sublimation printing is an excellent choice for colorful, detailed, and fully customized lanyard designs. During production, the artwork is transferred into the polyester fibers under controlled heat and pressure.
Because the ink becomes part of the fabric instead of sitting on top of it, the printed surface remains smooth and comfortable. The finished design is bright, detailed, and resistant to ordinary wear.
Sublimation printing is especially suitable for:
For a simple one- or two-color logo, screen printing may sometimes be the more economical option. For gradients, photos, fine details, or multiple colors, we normally recommend sublimation printing.
Choosing the right printing method is more important than choosing the most expensive one.
What We Check Before Printing
A design that looks perfect on a large computer screen may not remain clear on a 10 mm wide lanyard. This is one of the most common issues we see when checking customer artwork.
Before mass production, our team checks:
For narrow lanyards, we normally recommend a simple logo and clear lettering. If the design contains detailed graphics, long text, or a QR code, a width of 15, 20, or 25 mm may produce a better result.
If we notice a possible printing problem, we do not simply press the start button and hope for the best. We contact the customer, explain the issue, and suggest a practical adjustment.
A five-minute artwork correction can prevent a very long conversation after production.
How Custom Sublimation Lanyards Are Made
The process begins with the customer’s logo or design. Our team checks the file quality, colors, dimensions, printing position, and repeating pattern.
Vector files such as AI, PDF, and EPS normally provide the clearest printing results. High-resolution PNG and JPG files can also be reviewed.
Before production, we prepare a digital proof showing the logo placement, lanyard color, dimensions, and selected attachment.
The customer approves the layout before we proceed. This makes the production requirements clear to both sides and helps avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.
The confirmed design is printed onto special transfer paper using sublimation ink. Color settings must be carefully controlled because the appearance on transfer paper is not exactly the same as the final color on polyester.
This is where production experience becomes important. What looks slightly dull on paper can become bright and vivid after heat transfer.
The printed transfer paper and polyester webbing pass through the heat transfer equipment together. Under controlled temperature, pressure, and speed, the ink changes into gas and penetrates the polyester fibers.
Temperature control matters. More heat does not automatically mean better printing—otherwise operating the workshop would be much easier.
After printing, the webbing is cut to the required length. Our sewing team then installs the selected hooks, rings, buckles, safety breakaways, badge holders, or other accessories.
Reinforced stitching is used at the load-bearing points to improve durability during daily use.
Before packing, every production batch is inspected for:
Products that do not meet the approved requirements are separated instead of quietly finding their way into the shipping carton.
Custom Sizes and Attachment Options
Our custom printed lanyards can be produced according to your branding, application, and budget.
Available customization options include:
Available attachments include:
If you are unsure which attachment to choose, tell us how the lanyard will be used. A staff ID lanyard, festival pass, promotional giveaway, and key holder do not always need the same hardware.
Where Are Custom Printed Lanyards Used?
Custom logo lanyards combine practical carrying function with visible brand promotion. They are widely used for:
The best lanyard is not simply the one with the brightest printing. It should also be comfortable, easy to use, and suitable for the environment in which it will be worn.
Direct Production from an Experienced Lanyard Manufacturer
LOVECOLOUR has specialized in custom lanyards and wristbands since 2007. Our integrated production includes webbing preparation, sublimation printing, screen printing, cutting, sewing, hardware assembly, quality inspection, and professional packaging.
Keeping these processes under one roof helps us maintain consistent logo placement, color quality, stitching, and delivery schedules from sample approval to mass production.
We support corporate buyers, promotional product distributors, event organizers, schools, and brand owners with:
We are not only printing a logo onto a piece of polyester. We are producing something that may represent your company at an exhibition, identify your staff at an event, or be worn by thousands of visitors.
That deserves a little more attention than simply pressing “print.”
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I order custom lanyards with my logo?
Send us your logo, required quantity, preferred width, attachment, and intended use. Our team will review the information and prepare a free digital proof and quotation.
Which artwork format should I provide?
AI, PDF, and EPS vector files are preferred. High-resolution PNG or JPG files can also be checked. If your artwork is not ready for production, our design team can help adjust it.
Is sublimation printing suitable for full-color designs?
Yes. Sublimation printing is ideal for multicolor logos, photographs, gradients, detailed illustrations, and edge-to-edge designs.
Can the two sides have different designs?
Yes. Different artwork can be printed on each side. However, double-sided alignment requires careful production control, especially for repeating logos and narrow lanyards.
Which lanyard width should I choose?
A 10 or 15 mm width works well for simple logos and short text. For detailed artwork, longer wording, or QR codes, we generally recommend 20 or 25 mm.
Can you match Pantone colors?
We can make Pantone-based color adjustments. However, slight differences may occur because screen displays, transfer paper, and polyester fabric reproduce colors differently. A physical sample is recommended when color accuracy is especially important.
Can I receive a sample before mass production?
Yes. Depending on the project, we can provide a digital proof, partial sample, or complete pre-production sample for approval.
Do you accept bulk lanyard orders?
Yes. We handle both flexible quantities and large-volume B2B orders. Pricing depends on the quantity, width, printing method, attachments, packaging, and delivery requirements.
